reinventing my exit" last year but ughhhh. Still a good band though.

i love these comments bashing mudvayne compared to underoath. my name isnt a call for comparison, but it always comes to that; oh well. i laugh at these f***ots that compare underoath as better. the POS drummer in this band couldn't play one mudvayne song, same for the bass. not a chance in hell. and the lyrics are years away from mudvayne's writing ability. ha, you emocore queers probably havent even listened to good mudvayne and you compare these "musicians" to them? just plain stupid. you should probably look into the music itself before you say something dumb like that, mudvayne's ability as musicians is FAR more advanced.
that was your opinion, me and ktstein responded, and then u got all defensive and pissy
bashing me and underOath is what makes me call u immature, not ur opinion of the bandThis Message Edited On 03.16.06This Message Edited On 03.16.06

i think underoath is a really good band. one of my favorites. aaron has really good vocals and spencer is a really good screamer. whoever disses them is a fat loser. i may be 12 years old, but i know really good music.
| | | i used to be such a big fan of underoath, but when they lost their original singer (cant think of his name), and got spencer in place of him, they lost a big part of them that made them sound different than all the other bands. Spencer sounds like every other guy who screams in a metalcore band. You did a good job on the review, but i was and still am dissapointed with this album.
| | | Album Rating: 5.0
i still think that spencer is amazing. both singers were.

dallas was unique, but did u ever hear him live? it was horrible. hes so much better now, in maylene, although im not a huge fan of their music.
spencer's scream is less unique, but hes got an amazing range. trust me, I know, as I scream as well and I have trouble hitting some of his higher screams. And personally, I think their music is more unique now than before, when they sounded like basically any other metalcore band, minus a few songs(angel below comes to mind). I love their old CD's, but this CD is def my favorite.
| | | i heard some of their older stuff, and was impresses
but its not as good as this cd though
| | | I love Some Will Seek Forgiveness, Others Escape, but every other song I've ever heard of theirs has completely failed to make an impression on me. A favourable one, anyway.

that song is really good, one of my favorites of all time, but i think that every song of theirs is amazing and unique
| | | I dunno...Reinventing Your Exit is alright, but none of the rest can seem to keep my interest. Still, if you like 'em, that's all good, I'm not trashing them or anything.
They're relatively unknown down here in Australia too, so we haven't has it shoved down our throats by the media. Which always helps.
| | | their sooooo awsome! ilovethem liek whoa! their sound is the best i've heard besides Morgan
| | | I really like these guys, I don't enjoy to much post hardcore but I really enjoy listening to these guys.

Seriously if you want some good post hardcore guitar go listen to Thrice's The Illusion of Safety album.
| | | Album Rating: 3.5
i really like this album, but the guitar isnt that great... but it holds well, and ddnyy, can you give me some pointers for screaming, ive been trying lately, but i suck and sound completely different every time.

Matter of practise, no real tips one could give. What I expirienced since I scream in one of my bands is, never try to copy the scream of someone else. Try to find your own vocal range and see what you can do with it.
For example, if I try to imitate stuff like Heaven Shall Burn, I have an aching throat pretty fast. But going in my vocal range, it's no problem to scream over longer periods.
Experiment, see what fits your voice, and go for that
| | | "modern screaming pop-rock." what are you retarded? do you know the thougth put into the songs on this album. Do you play an instrument? are you in a band? if not then you have no right to lable a band taht is making more money in the mainstream world (Underoath is a CHRISTIAN band) then anyother Hardcore/screamo/emo band out there. you do realize that this album bypassed TBS and HH in sales and popularity. In fact it almost doubled TBS sales. yeah. so.... listen to the album again and lable it...even better yet.....go to school (a college or university.like i did for 8 years @ Full Sail) study music and then lable it. you review sucked. very inconclusive other then the fact that everyone know you dont like Underoath. well put. no take an unbiased view on it and do a review from a point of view that you actually dont care what they sound like and look into the details. Details meaning: Thought process of songs on the Album, Meaning of songs, and the instrumental value. maybe you would actually learn something about the band, and maybe appreciate music more.

It's been a while since someone seriously tried to piss on my leg, so I'm going to enjoy this one :D
"modern screaming pop-rock." what are you retarded?
No, I don't think so. If you do not like "modern screaming pop-rock", maybe you like the term "Pop-core" better? Cause that's what Underoath are to me. If you think different, cool for me. Not for you though, as it seems. Otherwise you would not jump around like that.
do you know the thougth put into the songs on this album.
No, and I doubt you do, unless you play in said band. Otherwise you can only speculate what the thoughts were, just like me
Do you play an instrument? are you in a band?
I do play bass for over three years now, and participate in two bands. Does that count?
if not then you have no right to lable a band taht is making more money in the mainstream world (Underoath is a CHRISTIAN band) then anyother Hardcore/screamo/emo band out there. you do realize that this album bypassed TBS and HH in sales and popularity. You DO know that Underoath is anything but Screamo, Emo or Hardcore? You should aquire your knowledge about genres from other sources than Rolling Stone or similar magazines. With a little research you will discover that Screamo are bands like Circle Takes The Square or Funeral Diner, and that Underoath is not really in that league of music.
And what's the crap about Underoath making "more money in the mainstream world"? Do you measure good music on the sales value. If the answer is yes, you are a very sad little person. And I could indeed not really understand how you justify to judge my review and point of view if your judgment is based solely on sales figures
yeah. so.... listen to the album again and lable it...even better yet.....go to school (a college or university.like i did for 8 years @ Full Sail) study music and then lable it.
Thanks for your advice, but I've been through the whole German educational system, including university. I think my educational level is just fine

Well, I think I was fairly unbiased. As unbiased as I could be. Sorry, but to me Underoath is just a clone created on a formula that sells well (like you put it yourself). There are other bands that do that specific thing better and more original. It's my point of view. Hooray for opinions! Not that it's like we're all living in a free world and are free to express our views on certain things...
Details meaning: Thought process of songs on the Album, Meaning of songs, and the instrumental value. maybe you would actually learn something about the band, and maybe appreciate music more.
Thought processes and meaning of songs is a thing only the band itself can express and pin down. I don't like to analyse songs on what they could mean, or could be intended to mean, but rather the feel and mood the songs express. And doing so, I think I learn enough of the band to tell what I think and feel regarding their music.
And, if you would ask quite a few people around here, I appreciate music VERY much. Otherwise I would not spend various hours in the rehersal room every week to play music, would not spend most of my daytime listening to music, or be here moderating this site or even write reviews for this site. Just because I do not cherish a band the way YOU do, does not mean I do not appreciate music. Very immature and childish view on things if you ask me.
Oh, and by the way:
if not then you have no right to lable a band taht is making more money in the mainstream world
