it wasn't Harvard that made him"lose his song-writing genius", as in everything i've read on the subject it states that he RETURNED to Harvard, implying he had already been there for a period of time. Rivers can still write songs just like he used to be able too. I play guitar and learn weezer songs from all eras. The songs are all written the same, If you look closely 'Photograph' from the green album is exactly the same as 'Buddy Holly' Just the chords in the verse are just in a different order, yet most people rated that song 2/5..... I really don't get the 'new' weezer hate club, I really don't. Perfect situation, hold me and peace are written in the same way as 'Pink triangle/ Falling for you' from Pinkerton. it seems that no matter what the band do, they are doomed to hatred by the public, which is a very sad thing.This Message Edited On 04.14.06This Message Edited On 04.14.06

Oh and Rivers has always been a 'self obsessed dick'. He wrote songs like Suzanne, No one else, the world has turned, and Jamie for the blue album. All these songs are very self obsessed. I heard in a interview where Rivers says himself he just writes what he's feeling at the time, and always has done. Now I shall stop my debate as I have tried to get straight everything that irritated me to an extent. This album is great. It's lame that people are always comparing Weezer's work to the Blue Album. It's a fun album that has some of their better songs. Get over it. Blue Album was great but for those who continuously say "they'll never do as great" are just ignorant. Weezer's albums have ALL been great.

Yes they have, I don't see why people diss this and the Green Album so bad. I mean Blue and Pinkerton are pure genius and this and Green don't quite have that magic but their still good albums. I have yet to listen to Maladroit.

I think it gets hated on so much just because it was a single and it was featured on Kids Bop. Yes there are a lot of better Weezer songs though.

Yeah Perfect Situation is awesome. I think we need to stop comparing thier new albums to Blue and Pinkerton that's why they're such a huge letdown to some. I'm happy with all their albums but I'll admit I love Blue and Pinkerton a lot more.
