too transitional an effort for me; the guitars and sound throughout are incredible (this is the album where the band finds its full identity, after all), but the actual songs aren't anything special. a riff, byrne doing his usual half-sung/half-spoken delivery, BOOM, next one. only they aren't as memorable. only "the good thing", "found a job", "stay hungry" and "take me to the river" are highlights for me

With Our Love, Artists Only, and The Girls Want to Be with the Girls are all brilliant too though

I much prefer Fear of Music to this one, this one feels transitional - sandwiched (heh heh) between two superior releases more comfortable in their respective styles.
