His posthumous stuff is a waste of time, so it's not as long as most of his stuff.

There's around 30 albums actually worth checking out though.

Hong, I feel like you'd enjoy Over-Nite Sensation.

Trance-Fusion was just solos. It was like Guitar with even less personality.

None of it is Frank Zappa approved, it's just not the same.

@Fripp: Really? The solos date from 1977-1988 so it seemed like a compilation.

Still doesn't change the fact that's it's not really an essential, even Guitar isn't really an essential, but I still like it enough to keep it on my ITunes.

Best Zappa

Even though there's a lot of Zappa I haven't heard yet

Dude check You Are What You is, We're Only in It for the Money, Zoot Allures, and One Size Fits All, and THEN try to tell me this the best Zappa.

Hot Rat's is like my 5th favorite though.

From his solo career I have this one, Apostrophe and Joe's Garage, only the essentials and the only one that I have from the Mothers is Over-Nite Sensation (50/50 fucking rules)

With most artists I'd agree, but with Zappa the lines blur so much between sound It's all just Zappa to me.

Especially since post Weasels Mothers was really just solo Zappa since JCB and Roy Estrada aren't there.

@MrSirLordGentleman: You Are What You Is and We're Only in it for the Money are my two favorites so I have trouble agreeing there.

One Size Fits All is like #3 for me though. :P

Freak Out! is amazing. Honestly, for me, almost all Alive-era Zappa is essential.

Just Ebay it, bro. I got mine years ago for about £7. The bargain was it was first press.
