Live version of this is even better, the production on this is quite poor tbh.

I don't mind the production here almost it all tbh, not when songs are this good, i even love the Lars'd snare on Dawn

Still the best Gojira by miles. Every song is interesting, every track flows into the next with minimal effort. Not my favourite heavy album ever, but up there 🤘

Remembrance's breakdown is such a "god damn" moment m/m/m/

Christ there are about 3 breakdowns in that song 😂 the ending to the song is something else, its incredibly tight and precise machinegun cannon fire and in one part even manages to sound like the drummer trips and falls on his own double bass pedals and clumsily hops back perfectly in time, amazing stuff

You're right, but i mean the first one at the 1:30 mark, one have to be utterly deaf to not go nuts for it, crowd moving shit

Ah yes that 1.30 breakdown is fantastic, powerful groove with that spiraling ambient synth/vocal effect that warms your brain. The great thing about this record is Gojira really let the riffs do the talking 👌

A couple of tracks off of mars to sirius were quite strong, but I felt that it was a bit safe and not as experimental as this record, so it disappointed me, and by the time I got to The way of all flesh, it wasn’t scratching that particular itch anymore (although Yama’s messengers is a fantastic track) Sure it still has that technical brilliance, but Gojira are now very successful and have to cater to a bigger audience, and good for them. This record and Terra Incognita have particular ingredients I am looking for though 🤘😍

Oh i see, they got better and better with each album since Terra imo, Flesh being their peak but not by much since this and Mars crush so much
