wow I actually really enjoy this. None of their previous albums have had this impact on me after so few listens. We'll see how well this album fares in the test of time.

preety good album and not a bad review, left a few songs out of the summary (the running free, The Fall of House Atlantic) yeah but not bad, i was about to give you a neg though since its not the final chapter its only the second part of act 4.

This is a good album, but it was definitely a letdown. I hyped it up so much in mind, but honestly as a closer, not what I expected. I do like how Coheed is evolving, but both IKS and GA1 are more complete records. Both WW1 and WW2 are better than anything on this record. It's a shame too, it had alot of promise. I was sincerely hoping for a hidden track that would put this album over the top (I had a theory that it would be The Willing Well V after those videos in congruence with story it's unfolding) but alas, On the Brink is all we get.

A bonus track would have ruined it, IMO. The hidden tracks have always been sort of bridges to the next album, and now that the story is over, there'd be no need. Besides, OTB is plenty climactic enough.

So far I've only listened to the album in its entirety once (via their Myspace, where it is free to listen to for 1 more day I believe). It's not bad, I thought in some parts it could be better, just some songs seemed a bit too poppy, but overall I'm satisfied. I'd like to listen to it some more though. And yeah, the album cover is pretty damn bad.

I dont see how this album has an overall rating LOWER than GA1. This is way better than that.

How could you not mention "Justice In Murder"? It is one of the top 3 songs of this album. Go listen to that incredibly perfect buildup and guitar solo for proof.

1. the album wasn't good enough to not need a bonus track

2. From Fear Through the Eyes of Madness was incredible. Both WWI and WWII are insane... best clauds written next to the the crowing. listen to the acoustic version. God that song just starts you in one place and takes you to a completely different place by the end. it's pretty amazing, and more epic than the end complete.

I'm in love with this cd and I have been a Coheed fan since IKSSE: 3 came out. This has replaced that album as my favorite Coheed album.
