This is album is so fascinating. I almost teared up while listening to The Frame yesterday. It's so melancholic, bittersweet and happy at the same time. Really feels like a perfect ending to a movie/drama/etc.

Yeah, this definitely takes quite a while to get into. About 10-15 listens until it really hit the spot, but Frames has got to be one of my all-time favorites now.

This band kinda reminds me of Isis, in the sense that when they finally grab you, they never ever let go.

This band and Isis were pretty immediate for me, well most of their albums at least. Isis are darker than Oceansize though, they're more similar to a band like Agalloch or Tool. This band is more diverse, playful, and accessible imo

Oh yea too totally different beasts, but I’m just saying that’s how I eventually ended enjoying both bands. They just suddenly hit me. They were growers.

Clearly i can see the similarities in that they both take quite their sweet time until it really clicks with you. None of my friends gave Oceansize a real chance because the y "only" liked the songs that i showed them but they didn't dig deeper into their catalogue
