That's because post rock bands aren't all that like each other, it's just a lame stereotype that makes writing reviews about the genre easy to start...

The vast majority of post rock bands I've listened to are equally boring for the same reasons

Then again, I find the more "mathy" post rock equally dull so idk what I want. Guess I'm just annoyed cos godspeed are my favourite band but I've never found anything in the genre that comes anywhere close

Yeah Godspeed is pretty hard to beat. There are a few that come close in style like Slowest Runner and Yndi Halda but still not as good.

I don't really think Godspeed is Post Rock, but it's a pretty weird view. Since them the genre has changed so much I don't really think they fit into said genre
