I have questioned this very thing being brought up as a Christian. There comes a point in your life where you have to ask yourself why you believe the things you do. For me, it changed from believing in God because it's what I was raised to do to believing in Him because I have tangibly felt His presence and seen first-hand healing miracles. Keep searching, lunchforthesky, for truth.
I'll look for the truth using my brain and intelligence not in a flat earth book thanks.

Hey man, I don't mean to push anything on you at all, so I'm sorry if it came off like that. As the line in Listening to Freddy Mercury by Emery...

Who are you and why do you think we care?
I don't think I'm necessarily anybody and don't think you care either. Again, to everyone, I apologize if what I said came across as pushing anything on anyone.

Oh I wasn't talking to you about that, sorry.
Though, I have no problem with religious people, only ones who have a problem with me being atheist.

It's all good man, you're cool.

Some guy came up to me in the subway yesterday and handed me a card for his 'Mormon Church of Latter Day Saints' or something along those lines. I should've told him the earphones in my ears at the time were projecting Slayer. I'm an atheist as well.
Tbh, I've never been too bothered about the christian aspect of bands, as long as the music is good and it's not too much 'oh praise the lord' in their lyrics. Where TDWP is concerned, the music sucks, so I'm not going to bother even giving the lyrics a check.

I have to disagree with your review on this one. Though you did a good job and were very complete when analyzing the album. The name devil wears prada was influenced by the book title not the movie, and has nothing to do with either. It refers to your judgement day, when standing before God your possessions don't matter. All that matters is the life you lived and how you lived it. And if you don't like the "to christian lyrics" don't listen to them, they are christian what do you expect them to sing about. If your not into Metalcore/Screamo/Metal than you won't like this cd. When reviewing you have to analyze the album in which the genre it belongs. And I don't really think you did this, and for the record they sound nothing like a heavier Chiodos. Mike's scream does take some getting used to but you have to admit it takes talent to do so. Sure he's no Spencer Chamberlain but Underoath and TDWP are totally different bands and types of music. The only thing they share is their faith. And the comments about the weird song titles, come on try and have a sense of humor! They're not meant to be taken serious. Bottom line if you don't like Metalcore/Screamo don't buy this cd. If you do buy it.

ITS NOT THE CHRISTIAN LYRICS THAT DETER US. Do you understand that this album is generic, and tries to copy what EVERY other metalcore band is doing? I don't think so. I'm into metalcore but this is just a bunch of crap. And c'mon, sense of humour? We're not 7 year olds... it's not fuckeng funny.

I love how Christians automatically assume that we just hate the album because the band and lyrics are Christian-based, when in reality, it's because the music just ****ing sucks and bands like these guys are a dime a dozen. I guess it's just so impossible to understand how people could possibly hate this. Seriously, there are about 100,000 bands out there that sound just like this.
It annoys me how Christian kids overpraise and glorify bands like this just because they're Christian. And please quit trying to convert us atheists on an internet forum. It's useless and irritating. And don't claim that we just don't like this band because we don't listen to metal, or more specifically metalcore because we do, but this is just ****ty metalcore.

My god you think these guys don't like metal? You're a freakin idiot. We all have listened to a lot of metal and most of us have listened to stuff a lot heavier than this. Not like that even matters. People hate this band because they suck and so what if their christian does that make them better than other bands? Well apparently to Itachi it does. You're a complete fool.

Even if TDWP has a good, Christian message (says all the fanboys)...all I have seen them do is corrupt forums with their biased fans and cause us regulars to become angry.
:/ damn you TDWP.This Message Edited On 08.30.07

This is exactly why some Christians irritate me; close minded, pushy, judgemental, and definately not metal. I apologize to everyone on Sputnik of behalf of my fellow Christians for acting like this!

I'm a fan of TDWP, but even I know my limits and recognize they're really not that great a band. This 3 is pushing it, if anything, but I'm trying to look at it from my enjoyment divided by a realistic look at the music from anyone else's standpoint. The 2's and whatnot are completely justified, and I highly doubt anyone on here is ignorant enough to let "christian lyrics" bother them.
The review is pretty good. I find the part mentioning that the vocals are sometimes "similar to chiodos" a bit funny, considering Craig Owens, Chiodos' vocalist, sings on song 6. I agree with the sentiments in the review though, as listening to Dear Love: A Beautiful Dischord is painful now, whereas I'm really enjoying Plagues. It may not be a great CD, but it's improvement upon their last effort, definitely.
Also, this isn't a new profile made solely to defend a band I like or some other post like that. I just decided on a terrible topic to make my first post about. This Message Edited On 08.30.07
