Album is so overrated.

ok I think I've decided Vice/Versa is my favourite track. Top notch.

I think the first third is the weakest part of the album, I love A Wolf Descends... and Say When is probably my favorite aside from An Honest Conman, but I guess most people don't have that. But no song here is even remotely skippable.

I agree, this is one of those albums where I don't even pay attention to song titles because I know that if I put it on I'm going to listen to the whole thing.

I can't quite pinpoint why, but this album just doesn't get old for me. I like the whole overall sound they've crafted here, and each song is satisfying to listen to.
I really can't say that there's a song on here I don't like. "The Wife, The Kids and the White Picket Fence" grew on me immensely, and that was, for a time, the closest thing I had to a least favorite track. My favorite tracks are the first two, "Walls of Jericho" and "(When The Bough Breaks) Say When" (I don't know why the last track gets so much flak...I think it's a perfect ending). This Message Edited On 05.22.08

It's a great song, but ending an album at such a tense moment is annoying. "An Honest Conman" has a much more fulfilling, complete-sounding conclusion, I think.

i'm pretty much confused as to why this is generally considered progressive. maybe cause when i think progressive i think "Yes" or "King Crimson"

it's pretty much alt rock with prog, metal and folk influences.

well, in "Definitive Rock & Metal Albums" in the Featured section here, it's listed at number 5 in the "progressive" section. i mean i see traces of influence here, but not nearly enough to consider it progressive, ya know?

This is progressive more in the literal sense of the word and less in the "genre" definition of it... although it has elements of both.

i've taken this discussion to the forums fyi just so people don't say "why do you keep asking this question everywhere" or whatnot

This band is totally obscure and unique and I love this cd. I heard a local radio station playing the whole cd one night. They set aside a night of the week to play a whole cd from a new band. I was amazed from the first listen, so I waited and waited for the release and bought it. Its still a heavy part of my rotation. I read that they're about to head to the studio to start recording a new cd. So that should kick ass too.
