Yeah, he only uses triggers live i thought...?

He uses triggers in the studio too. It's so blatently obvious.
Did anyone else notice in the album artwork that the statue of the god has a huge boner? This Message Edited On 07.22.07

When I first heard that Papryrus song, I thought, "Okay, this is mediocre." So, I was expecting a lot more when I listened to the whole album.
It left me shaking my head in disbelief. What the hell happened?
The songs are half-baked and by golly do they bore me. George Kollias seems content to do the same thing over and over again. Karl Sanders manages to unleash pedestrian solos that leaves me grabbing for my Malmsteen cd.
Absolute waste. This Message Edited On 07.23.07

No, it's what Nile is now. It still has a few good tracks, but I think it's almost time for them to hang uo their belt, or diversify their style.

best review ever. my hats off to you good sir.

about the god with the boner...isnt that the back of the statue? cause it looks like the slaves are pushing it from the back. which would mean that the erected object isnt a penis...

I think you need to learn about George Kollias.
I think you need to learn about sound engineering and drums in general. Triggers are required to clarify the kicks at the speeds George is playing at. While I do imply that he uses them in such a way that would require less effort, that's a moot point since their usage is so blatantly obvious that I need not elaborate. The fact is anyone playing at those speeds would have to trigger their kicks, otherwise it would be a blur.
which would mean that the erected object isnt a penis
I didnt even look at the album cover when I described the meaning of Ithyphallic. I researched it (unlike Nile). This Message Edited On 07.24.07

They are, and this isn't nearly that good. If you're a fan, you will still like it.
|
| |
It's nowhere near as good as AOTW, but there are 3 or 4 great Nile tracks
If you don't like what they do, why are people commenting on how much they "suck"
It's an alright album tbh, ignore the title

ithyphallic means pertaining to egyptian culture. but it is odd that the word phallic is part of it. if you search ithypahllic on wikipedia without the (album) behind it it redirects to erection. haha

actually if you read the review (and the dictionary) you'd know that ithyphallic does not mean pertaining to Egyptian culture.
