This slightly beats all the Godspeed albums imo.

Slow Riot is in no way better than this, even though that album is a 5/5 as well.

i think slow riot may be the closest to being better than this, but yeah your right, theres no way that it is.

Well, Hymn to the Immortal Wind is almost as good, as is Program Music, I (although that's more electronica than anything else).

I've yet to hear Lift Your Skinny Fists like Antennas To... It seems to have received mixed reception.

this, F# A#, and How Lonely Sits the City are prob my top 3 favorite post-rock albums. Yndi Halda beating out the other two by a slim margin.

I prefer Slow Riot to this because of the incredibly dark emotion that drips off of all 30 minutes of it. It's a frightening listen really, but ultimately it's the most satisfying ad powerful post-rock album i've listened to and it does it in half the length that most do.

This, which is breath-taking as well don't get me wrong, would get second in my book. It may be the more triumphant and overblown album, but it lacks that certain atmosphere that makes Slow Riot so powerful. This is powerful, but more in the "charging into battle" kind of way than the "HOLY SHIT WE'RE ALL GOING TO DIE" kind of way, if that makes sense.

Simply one of the best post-rock albums ever. One of my fave albums of the decade.

I know what you mean by this, because Godspeed's work is brooding and cathartic; gives imagery of the end of the world. For me this album has a great atmosphere, but it's not as prominent as Slow Riot For Zew Zero Kanada.

For good reason, It is EPIC. I actually enjoy this more than Mono, Sigur Ros, and GY!BE combined.

^Charles^ You haven't been here long have you...

^ras^ Be prepared for a beautiful album. Like most post-rock it is best played while walking somewhere while it is gently snowing... add a recent breakup and you could possibly be in tears.
