This album is waaay underrated. This is actualy ATR's best album, with elements of almost all genres within metal. This album deserves more than 2.5! Oli Herbert is a great guitarist, with complex solos and riff. Phil Labonte is probably metalcore's front voice, as he varies from high-pittched screams, to deep growls.

I fuckin loved this album when it came out. I have since moved on to other tastes of metal but can still appreciate this one!

This album is somewhat of a guilty pleasure for me. I can't stand the rest of All the Remains' discography post this album though. Man did they really devolve into a bad generic metalcore/pop band.

This album has a lot of chugging, but is fairly decent at its high points

Focus Shall Not Fail and This Darkened Heart are probably the best songs on the album

There is actually a 3-track demo out there, I've got it... pretty bad.

The best All that Remains album for sure. It really smokes and has some solid riffs and lacks that lame-ass verse-chorus mechanic that almost all Metalcore bands use these days. I don't hate singing in my Metal, I just hate formulaic song writing that is predictable to the point of making the listener physically ill.

Worst album in their library, counting the brand new one. You can't compare Michael Bartlett's drumming to Shannon Lucas or Jason Costa. Lucas is the reason The Fall of Ideals was so insane. This is why they replaced him with someone just as capable when he left. Bartlett does little more than hold a beat, and that held All That Remains back severely.

I feel like this is their best. Of course, Fall of Ideals is great, but this does more for me. The Deepest Grey is fucking awesome.

"This darkened heart, death in my arms, the deepest gray and I die in degrees are classics."

tattered on my sleeve too, all gym classics. too bad the production didn't age well. it needs an overhaul badly.
