Sure. I would say that "magical touch" you're referring to is just increased pop accessiblity with more obvious English lyrics, simpler melodies, etc. It's fine, but I preferred when it felt like the band was really pushing sonic boundaries.

I've only heard this, so I can't really compare them.
I don't get a dark vibe from this though, it's more frigid and pure sounding like an angel in the winter.
