I don't remember much from Iowa tbh but this does have a lot of percussion so it might be somewhat similar. It does not have the cringe factor of Corey Taylor however.

'It does not have the cringe factor of Corey Taylor however.'
man, imagine how good nu metal could have been if the average nu-metal vocalist/lyricist had more than 3 brain cells

Used to borrow this from the local library. I'm glad those charming ladies in their late 50s, whose English was probably limited to "I've been looking for freedom", thought that this was something people might be looking for.

They have a pretty varied discog. First album is slayer worship, next couple are thrash/dm inspired, then Reborn is pretty influenced by early nu-metal/groove then this and Conceived In Fire take it more in a core direction, then the last two settle into more of a straight forward groove metal sound.
Definitely one of my favorite bands of all time that hit their stride when Bruce took over on vocals (from Reborn onwards). First three are a bit of an acquired taste.

think i should start with reborn mimsy?

Songs like Bloodwork show that songs do not need to be too complex to be really good, you just have to hit the right note at right moment, everytime
