It certainly was a departure, especially from TOYPAJ which I have rated the same as the new one. This, Dude Ranch and Neighbourhoods are where it's at for me.

I think most people I knew at the time had the Boxcar album too so this wasn't all that much of a departure since it was following on from that for most. I do remember there being massively mixed reviews though, which makes sense, it's blink-182 after all.
