Legit might be their best ballad, such a superior version of Sextape (which I find kinda toothless and dull).

Ok Why not. This comes from a relatively newish fan (even though ive had albums of theirs since 1997 etc, i became a big fan only a few years ago) so im not wedded to any albums or any entrenched deep beliefs forged that the classic early albums are the best etc. Basically listening to almost all of them from an even playing field without earlier prejudices.

Private Music - Yep, i think it will take my top spot. It's so consistent.

Koi No Yokan

Gore

Diamond Eyes

White Pony

Ohms

Around the Fur

Saturday Night Wrist

Self Titled

Adrenalin (don't really know it that well - basically unrated, what i've heard though has left me a little meh to be honest, like I missed the boat with this one, needed to hear it back in the day. I understand its appeal, but little interest in it)

All other albums above are top notch, although id only refer to self titled as quite good.

I’m a Gore apologist but damn fam even I don’t have it that high lol, give Saturday Night Wrist more attention, I don’t know anyone who would have it that low

Koi is absolutely my favorite tho and I don’t think that will change, I also think if you like dreamier Deftones and not heavy Deftones then ya this will rank high and the self titled/adrenaline will rank low, which is for sure the case with me

I like their heavier tracks but mostly as just a way to balance out the lighter stuff

And Sextape is amazing but I’ve always liked Beauty School more… but Entombed kicks the shit out of both. i think about you all the time is probably on the same level as Beauty School for me

I think i've given SNW a lot of time, and i do really like it.

love Hold in the Earth, Beware, Cherry Waves Kimdracula, its all good.

I just like the others more.

Koi was my favourite too and maybe when the dust settles will still be my no 1, but theres some vibes on PM that KNY doesnt have which is just my thing at the moment.

And yeah, i just really like Gore. Plus Phantom Bride is my favourite song of theirs, so thats partly why its quite high for me too.

that’s one of my favorites from them for sure too, but Jerry Cantrell is my goat so that probably has something to do with it

I think the first two are pretty easily my least favorites but ya, their most consistent album maybe ever tbh. Even White Pony, SNW, and Koi have tracks I don’t particularly care for.

Ecdysis sounds like an Ohms track. That shitty synthy chorus.

Nah that's one of my favourites here tbh.

I'm not as big on Infinite Source as everyone else is. More solid than spectacular for me.

Hard agree, Ecdysis is great imo as well, but the rest here is pretty mid and sounds like lesser versions of older songs/ideas.

I respect your opinion, but having ATF and Self Titled that low? And gore over them? damn, I dont know if my old heart can take it haha.

The fact this thread got almost 60 pages rn on 2025's sputnik speaks of how awesome this album is, even for the people who haven't realized it yet.
