I would say no to that, although the same people is very stripped down and powerful, the original band was more funky and had psych in it, this is straight forward metal done by some of the best players in the genre
sounds fresh IMO, but i still love the OBS more for the funk and psych

Ozzy never thinks of anything. He's letting the others doing all the hard work while he enjoys fame.

I actually wanted to see a video of Ozzy saying he hated Dio, not Dio's interview on what he thinks Ozzy thinks about him on a website that most interviews are paraphrasing and not actual quotes. Good link though otherwise.

Well, certainly in the music industry sometimes you'll see artists openly saying they hate each other, but I'd say most of the time it is given to the people to conclude that kind of stuff given the circumstances

Yeah truuuue. Some are more humble than others, like not metal but Twista gives props to Tech N9ne for his verses on speed, but he said deep down they both fear each other, which is a good thing, really. It's respect and the fear of someone else taking stealing your thunder, all human emotions and it happens a lot yo

Yeah, I think that certainly would be the reason Ozzy wouldn't like Dio, though, to be fair, it seems a little bit childish since it's not like Dio actively took his spot. Ozzy got fired because his drug problems were on an uncontrollable level and if someone's to blame, that's himself

Gotta love Sirlord for his fighting spirit and the everyday battles against all those infidels.

imo Tate > Dio, but its honestly just a preference thing at their level.

Tate in his prime you could make an argument ill admit (but still gonna take Dio). But Tate also fell off and found a level of terrible and cringe that was almost unheard of. Dio was never a part of anything truly awful.

Tate's voice got really shitty yeah. But even as a Dio fanboy I can say I didn't like at all his live voice in his latter years (too much growling)
That being said, on their prime I'd take Dio, I find his voice and range to be more heartfelt and versatile, even if he couldn't reach Tate's higher notes
Also, while it is certainly not Tate's fault, I think he was such a big influence that there are soooo many prog metal bands that try to sound like him in, what I like to call, the stereotypical prog metal vocalist sound (LaBrie, for instance)
