"Didn't Cynic also get shat on pretty hard in the 90s cuz they kept getting put on tour with death metal bands due to poor marketing since nobody knew what to do with them or something like that"
They did yes. Cynic literally got boo'd off stage when they opened for Cannibal Corpse lol

"Creed ain’t that bad"
Once you get accustomed to Scott's muppet vocals, Creed's music is honestly pretty good. Mostly because of Tremonti's influence, of course

Man people really hate this THAT much huh?

See... 5FDP are the epitome of every negative thing I'd ever say about mainstream metal.
- Garbage production, someone get Kevin Churko OUT OF THERE, those "fake arena" drums sound absolutely horrific, just about every single album he's produced has this problem, even the more tolerable ones like the solo Ozzy ones have THAT drum sound and I hate it hate it hate it
- Gross "tough guy" attitude. if you thought Pantera's toxic masculine attitude around Vulgar Display of Power was bad, Ivan puts it in a whole different level.
- When they're not doing "I'm tougher than you" they're just doing the most generic military pandering. Like fuck I didn't even like the browbeating Avenged Sevenfold did in 07 with "Critical Acclaim" all that much.

holy shit it's gotten that bad?
could've sworn years ago i added like 50 pages to the devil and god thread all over jesse lacey being a piece of shit and then green baron begging me to listen
then i listened like 3 months later on a sophies floorboard rip (jesse aint getting a penny from me) and i thought it was. fine. maybe i'd let it fuck me up more if jesse was a decent person but eh.

Is there any other contentious bullshit bands that have a release coming up or has this band taken the cake for this years divisive band of the year
|
| |
why does your music taste revolve exclusively around “fucking you up” emotionally
|

This band is like Hollywood Undead lost a bet and had to fusion dance with A Perfect Circle

Music is cathartic for me. I'd be in a far worse position if I didn't have it (and more recently, professional wrestling) to fall back on. Especially when the rest of the world's destroying itself with senseless wars and politicians are trying to debate on my right to exist.
tl;dr: the world is hell so i need my comfort place and music does that. and happy songs rarely help.
"This band is like Hollywood Undead lost a bet and had to fusion dance with A Perfect Circle"
and if Hollywood Undead didn't have to resort to the ridiculous partycore bullshit

I knew this album was going to be shat on here lmao to each their own but the people here hate mainstream music. Album is a solid 3.8 for me.

honestly I can't tell which album went over people's heads the most - this or the self-titled from Escape the Fate
My mind's still thinking ETF tbqh

Deeming well-written, well-founded criticisms as the album simply going "over people's heads" seems pretty conceited, but ok
