Oh the glitchy stuff? I thought that was cool. Again, it's different. It's like how "Crush" was for P4 except instead of Endur vibes it's Nik Mystery.

Silhouette is just extremely mid, easily the weakest here but still not horrible

Nobuo's structure is just off. It starts off heavier and gets lighter as it goes on which is interesting in theory but it kinda misses the mark with what it wants to do for me. like it wants to be epic, grandiose, and emotionally weighty and it hits the epic grandiosity but I feel more from past closers. Satellites, Lune (especially Lune), Stranger Things, Psychosphere, Pale Aura, Masamune, even Racecar.

It's just, it has awesome ideas but they're structured weirdly and it all just sounds like a chaotic mess. The 4 minute ambient outro could've instead been replaced with some buildup for the main riff they just shoot right into.

the chorus of nobuo sounds like something that would play during the end credits of some late 00s usa network show like burn notice and i mean that in the best way possible

i would like nobuo a lot more if not for the "another trigger in mind..." shit bc that straight up sounds like it could come from like a singalong in a cartoon and i hate it lmao. it is a good song otherwise

It's weird because most of these hooks in Nobuo on their own are really good, the structure of them all together is just

I don't even know.

To me, Nobuo is the most energetic and versatile song on the album, next to Wildfire. It showcases just how hard this band will take turns and just absolutely own it. It's a completely different song, but it gives me huge Stranger Things vibes with it's overall punch and energy. And Spencer just knocks it out of the park, of course, and Matt is just all over the place with his little fills and unique choice of kicks. I've said it before, but it harkens back to those Captain On days. Their spirit is still there, it's like a little nod to those fans that loved when they were being whimsical and not just heavy all the time.

Someone on youtube commented "Some Periphery outros have a "now hug everyone at the venue" vibe" and I just get that

I don't understand why what you guys are going on about Nobuo. It's like the most tonally consistent song on this that isn't Silhouette. It flows seamlessly from beginning to end with very little diversion from the song's main vibe. What song are you guys listening to hahaha I don't get it.

Nobuo's structure is just weird considering what it wants to be. Like on a structural level, Satellites is a way more emotive closer. Nobuo sounds like it WANTS to make me cry but it doesn't. Satellites just hits for me.

Honestly, word, Satellites has a way of lyrically making you weep, but I feel like Nobuo has a way of being timeless, a testament to struggle in a noteworthy person's life, but also a celebration. I feel more from this than Flatline.

Maybe it's one of those songs I'll go back to and reflect on and love later in life.

Spence has a lot to reflect on his own life and dealing with loss so I guess it's kind of derivative of the lyrical focus
