I certainly wouldn't be too hasty in judging this band by their latest single (a song I have admittedly not heard). They have oodles of strong material from yesteryear that it'd be sensible to check at least a portion of their back catalogue (however small) first. Xing's suggestions would likely work well. That era generally is considered a great gateway and it makes sense really.

I suppose, bands change after all. Just so happened to listen to the new one during a binge and it kind of sucks. I'll try with these songs, was also planning to get through The Poacher Diaries.

lol poacher diaries is probably their most inaccessible material. I fuckin love it but definitely not for a converge virgin

Personally I would say give the I Can Tell You About Pain EP a shot. The title track is about what you can expect from them normally but Eve is straight up probably the best song they’ve ever written

To me, Heaven In Her Arms still Converge at its finest, the sheer intensity is just unmatched imo, but yeah, i also think Eve is among their best songs overall

Overall easiest Converge gateway albums are All We Love We Leave Behind and The Dusk In Us, so give those two a spin before you decide

Both new tracks are great. Love Is Not Enough rips but We Were Never the Same is still solid

Well, yeah. Turns out my trash speaker was at fault.
I'll say, Eve, Veins & Veils and Drop Out are great. And I really like the lyrics in Heaven In Her Arms, but I'm not exactly into the sped-up agitated crow noises -type of vocals.

That really only applies to Jane Doe and before, Jacob actually spits the lyrics from You Fail Me onward… I’m glad you dig them man! Truly a once in a generation band. They’re the best to ever do it imo

Glad you digged those tracks, they are among my favorites, band is a slow burner but when it clicks there's no turning back
