most of the tracks are just poor-man's RTL-equivalents but they're still pretty good. t/t, damage inc, disposable heroes all rule.

they track-for-track stylistically copied everything from RTL, then made them a little longer and added like one extra song to throw us off. AJFA they did the same thing again but made the songs even longer and added yet another track.

all metallica title tracks are second on their album and how is fade to black prog at all?
"other song" definitely doesn't count because what the fuck
creeping death isnt a long instrumental and ktulu isnt a fast and aggressive closer
2/8

I always thought it kind of cool that RtL and MoP have a similar structure.

the first four tracks on each are pretty much taken from the same template. And Fade/Sanitarium aren't proggy so much as they are just ballad-y with a metal solo-oriented second half/bridge.

The Thing/Bell Tolls sound nothing like each other, and Lightning/Puppets don't sound like each other either, they just so happen to both be title-tracks. The only two from the first four that sound the same structurally are Fight Fire/Battery and Black/Welcome.

tracks 3 are both slow thrashers, track 7/8 are long instrumentals. They def took ideas that worked from the RTL and repeated them just cus.

Even though Puppets does have a very similar tracklist structure, they are very different in atmosphere.

Yep. I kind of like the formulaic structure of their 3 "classic" albums anyway; puts them together like a sort of trilogy.

they just get progressively more complex as they go, so ya trilogy. Like Star Wars bc A New Hope is def the best thx.
