All those hammer on riffs are too good. Towards a Dark Sky is one of the best dm songs I've heard.
|
| |
The songs on the album never go anywhere or do anything interesting. Such wasted potential. Saunter was so much better.

Saunter is fucking savage. Still one of the best death metal albums I've ever heard. Wows me every time.
This is so flaccid and each song starts promising but never does anything and the whole thing just meshes together and the action never starts.

This isnt Effigy of the Forgotten

Effigy is more of a brutal assault that makes me want to throw barbels at peoples faces a the gym
This is something I would put on while walking through a park during the Fall when the leaves are changing
Very different vibes, bro

Nah Effigy is the ultimate atmo-death album for me

Really? I fucking love Effigy but I don't really get that at all from that album

@Astral - don't get me wrong, I do like Saunter, but I pretty much disagree on every point of your analysis on this album.
I'm not even sure what my favorite atmo-death album would be

where can i find a portal to any dimension in which a suffocation album can be considered atmospheric death metal
|

Album Rating: 4.5
oh yea portal, that's a band

I wouldn't call Suffo atmospheric death metal as a genre tag
But not other album in the genre evokes such a strong atmosphere as Effigy for me
I mean it just takes me straight to an alien gore garbage planet what can i say
