ENGLISH TRANSLATION:
Aspid
Extravasation
Are you still alive, my friends? I sincerely feel for you. A little bit later you will understand why I say so. But for now: my name is Igor Burlakov, I’m a manager and a press-agent of a band, which name is Aspid. Aspid, if to trust a huge Ozhegov’s dictionary, is a kind of poisonous snake, totaling about 2500 species. In usual usage aspid is an insidious and a malevolent man. To say in one word – a jerk. The band, which has taken this name, was born in 1988 on the South of Russia in Volgodonsk city, the city named a symbol of new Russia, her tired and everyday face. The band performs heavily loaded and technically very difficult variant of speed metal with grindcore elements. Band’s members call their music speed-power, but only in case if somebody strongly bother them with naming their style. However you can select band’s style for yourself. And now I want to start with introducing you band’s members.
Vladimir Pyzhenkov, Bass: What I want from life? Tranquility, not rest, but tranquility, although I know that it won’t be in this life. I want to play faster, as thrash is the kind of music in which I can express myself as a musician. We are playing thrash, we are not able to play something else.
Vasiliy Shapovalov, Drums: Once an old man told me that he became sick while watching at me. What a pleasure! Hmmm our mission on the Earth is to make everybody barf and choke themselves with their own vomit. He-he-he
Aleksander Sidorchik, Guitars: All people are brothers without any shit. Years later there were so many skuns, I would have killed them all. And now maybe I have changed or skunks have disappeared, I don’t want to kill anyone.
Vitaliy Holopov, Vocals: I have always been told that I do not have a thrash image and how I should play on the scene in a certain way. Here I think the stereotype works that a metal image has borders, the main image is certainly the music, which comes from you, as the music is something inside you, and our music is complicated and terrible. All in all, I do not want in my life to be similar to it.

Aspid - “Hey, you”
Vladimir Pyzhenkov, Bass: I like honey, I can eat 3kg at once. Nobody believes me, but I have done it several times and I feel myself perfectly. I love Deli very much, it’s my dog, she is very clever, and sometimes it seems that she is cleverer than me. In any case, she understands me better than I understand her.
Aleksander Sidorchik, Guitars: I won’t be original if I say that Hendrix had the main influence on me as a musician and still have influence, although seven years ago I was absorbed by Metallica, and then I realized that for how long I would play, I would play exactly the same music. I want nothing else now.
Vasiliy Shapovalov, Drums: I am named “a machine” and “a machine-tool”. Ok, I am for “machinism”, but let it be an alive stream. Moreover, there not many people who saw us, so we will be nicknamed even worse.
Vitaliy Holopov, Vocals: For now I think we are working traditionally, not moving the borders of the genre. In any case, I write gloomy lyrics, and the most interesting thing is I notice that people see only death, violence, blood in my lyrics, and influence of attributes, not what actually is meant: pain, suffering, suffering from understanding that we live incorrectly, that we are sinful, and this pain is well deserved. At the moment I don’t see ways of redemption, except one – death.
Aleksander Sidorchik, Guitars: I want to be happy, somebody doesn’t want, in my opinion, they are lying. I want to live long in this world, but not eternally. I don’t want to bury somebody, let all outlive me.
Vladimir Pyzhenkov, Bass: Certainly I love my wife and will love her. She helps me to overcome this disease, I mean thrash. We all are hopelessly infected by thrash. And if one doesn’t disgress, it will eat us extremely fast. And if one makes thrash his style of life, it is the same as to hang, to shot yourself or bloodletting simultaneously.
Vitaliy Holopov, Vocals: Maybe a new understanding and images will appear, as for suffering, it is a sublime feeling. People have always valued their suffering higher than their pleasure.
Vasiliy Shapovalov, Drums: Nowadays in thrash there are tendencies to slow down and to harden. We are not undergoing it, I mean speed etc. We haven’t play as fast as we can. All in all, our music is sweet, kind. People do not understand in what shit they are sitting. Ha-ha-ha

Aspid – “It Came (Aspid)”
That is all I wanted to say about the band, performing so unpopular music. Every member is so limitlessly talented that could show himself in any easier genres. However an artist draws as he can, and if he can this or that, unfortunately, he is not an artist. And the last: in February 1992 a little army with hellish name from bedraggled Russian town turned to the North and slowly, but accurately, goes forward, drew on its black flag genius Edgar Poe’s words: “Horror and fatality have been stalking abroad in all ages.”
