Ok looked at the tracklist and Spoons isn't on it thank goodness.
Downtown is a pretty sloppy track, tries too hard to sound grand in my ears. Growing Up is pretty awful. WP2 is uh... something that I can't sum up in a comment. Havent had the chance to listen to Kevin or Buckshot yet, but so far this album is looking pretty ugly.

I agree with the lyrics being a bit sloppy and inconsistent, but I don't understand why people hate him for trying to give his support. Does it come off as pandering, insulting, or just lame?
I'm honestly curious.
Perhaps my viewpoint of him is stuck in 2012, when my teenage self thought he was just a fun new talent with promise for the future. He's too childish and immature to be able to handle issues like racism or LGBT rights when he's doing goofy shit like "Downtown" or "Thrift Shop". Maybe it's being in the middle of the road, then, that might make him seem pretentious, but I think he's honestly trying to do some good things. People are certainly welcome to disagree with that.
Ryan Lewis is a beast, though. Pretty much carries this at points, and as long as he delivers on the new LP, I'll look past the downsides. "BomBom" doesn't get enough respect nowadays.
