I honestly see a lot of merit in this, it's just greatly crippled by both Lou's and Metallica's huge ass egos

'The thing which should not be'
Like an old drunkard hobo wandered into some 14 yr olds Metallica cover bands first practice session and began ranting bout his sexual fantasies and whatnot just fucking abominably shit.

Leave 'Lulu' alone she's 'armless

Lou Reed gets misunderstood on here. this isn't a good album but with the exception of the latter half there's a few standout moments. it's actually remarkable that Reed is 70 at this time (I think..?).
Coulda been done with or without Metallica though

Maybe im just not musically cultured enough to understand or appreciate the genius behind Lou 's lyrics and delivery but several moments on here literally cause me to burst out laughing and the rest just leave me scratching my head.

the lyrics are inspired by Earth Spirit and Pandora's Box (two hundred-ish-year-old plays by Frank Wedekind) in which the main character is named Lulu
edit: nvm the reviewer already mentioned that
