Just read an interview today on the new album, and it's extermely unlikely to be concept as they "haven't had enough time".
It's also being produced by Nick Raskulinecz who has done work with Foo Fighters and Rush. So we can brush that bullshit of Bryan Adams doing it. lol

This guy is a pretty safe pick, and its becoming more apparent that Mastodon think of themselves as a "rock-band". Raskulinecz has produced the 2 shittiest FF albums, the 2 most recent AiC albums and the 2 most recent Deftones albums.
