I'm tryna hear an 8 minute trivium song

Be careful, you say that about Oceanic and the next thing you know you're listening to Danny Brown.
|
| |
Both of those are better than Trivium so I don’t see the problem
|
| |
off me if it ever gets to that point

If I had a dime for every time they recycled the like light to flies riff after this album, I wouldn’t be on this site rn
|
| |
What songs do they recycle it on?

Nearly every song on Vengeance Falls, the majority of their last two albums, prob a few on In Waves I'm not remembering... and they probably do it on SITS too but I don't care to check. The Crusade and Shogun are the only albums I can't remember hearing something that very closely resembles it.
I know it's a pretty common trope for the genre but Trivium specifically beat the 'chug straight 8th/16th/triplets on the e string / accent every third note by openly hitting frets 3 5 7 8 10 or 12 on the g string' riff to absolute death. Sometimes instead of accenting the g string they'll play power chords or play a herta on the e string instead... sometimes they play it faster sometimes they play it slower... but you literally can't un-hear it when you notice it.
Good example of what I'm talking about: (though they do spice it up a bit here) https://youtu.be/em8krTUsVLE?t=72

Damn you're right lol. Its been so long since I've sat down and listened to these guys that I forgot how creatively stagnant they are at times.

Frets 0 3 5 7 8 10 and 12 are the metalcore method
|
| |
ahh yes pull harder the only good song these guys ever wrote
