as for fretless, i love the sound, but i never noticed it on the album since i never heard that distinct "growl" that a fretless bass has.

Briggs' bass didn't have painted frets, if that's what you're talking about... my fretless is marked though and that's fine. As long as I get the toooone, I'm happy.

The introduction has some tricky parts just because of the placements and patterns (typical BTBAM) but once you get it down (I haven't yet), it'll be awesomely fun.

i don't doubt you one bit; time signatures and odd patterns always make stuff a bit more difficult, but this song is definitely worth learning.

oh yeah i not saying painted frets is a bad thing, just that in the studio to maximize the time you have painted frets would give some players an advantage, i dont have painted frets on mine but im learning the ways slowly aha.
