Well that makes sense. I do do that a lot so if I end forgetting to check the album and I see it bumped again later on, I'll remember to check it.

I'm just curious moog, 2 people out of over 2000 gave that album a 1 so I want to know if Anders personally offended him or something else beyond just "I hate this album, virtually everyone's wrong"

"One of the worst halo 3 maps"

Basically a game of 'camp-the-mancannons/elevators' and 'ring around the rosie' at the same time and sometimes someone has a sword which is cool I guess

No, it's just bereft of anything worth praising.

What people will find to be quality is purely subjective. tbh if you know Cas taste then it should come across as no surprise that he doesnt like Clayman at all and if he cant find anything worthwhile then he can have it at a 1. Clayman is an album that favors its catchiness waaaay over anything compositional. Theres nothing wrong with liking it or disliking it to whatever extent you feel. Ratings should be based on whatever an album gives to you, not some fake ideal of objectivity.

Gladly and I'll work off of Moog's point.

It's not just that it prioritizes catchiness. It's that the band reduced a sound that was already really accessible and felt that they needed to water it down even further, which results in an album that is not only a slog but a complete waste of time. An album that lacks ambition in virtually every single aspect without a single good song on it.

being catchy and more accessible than colony aren't bad points lol. the rest of your argument are generic sentences, "lacks ambition in virtually every single aspect" "without a single good song on it" "not only a slog but a complete waste of time".

like what's "ambition" to you? how were they not trying to achieve anything at all? were they doing what every melodeath band was doing at the time? how do you feel about lyrics? instrumentals? how are riffs and melodies latest-hoobastank-level-bland?

what you described is at worst an average album, how's it terrible? i'm just reallllllly curious

"what do you think about the lyrics?"

Overly angsty bullshit but this factors in little to me.

"instrumentals?"

That's largely what I was talking about earlier. If you watered their sound further from The Jester Race, you'd essentially have bad radio metal which is essentially what everything from Clayman onward is.

Yeah, Lethe is the worst song lyrically but otherwise, the album's pretty strong and I did say that it factors in little to me.

Alamo, all you're saying is that you prefer bland melodramatic radio metal to laughably absurd radio metal.

oh boy.. I think Lethe is a good song lyrically. It's a metaphor for alcohol, and I think it's a pretty relevant analogy, and quite poetic
