What people will find to be quality is purely subjective. tbh if you know Cas taste then it should come across as no surprise that he doesnt like Clayman at all and if he cant find anything worthwhile then he can have it at a 1. Clayman is an album that favors its catchiness waaaay over anything compositional. Theres nothing wrong with liking it or disliking it to whatever extent you feel. Ratings should be based on whatever an album gives to you, not some fake ideal of objectivity.

It's that the band reduced a sound that was already really accessible and felt that they needed to water it down even further, which results in an album that is not only a slog but a complete waste of time. That's largely what I was talking about earlier. If you watered their sound further from The Jester Race, you'd essentially have bad radio metal which is essentially what everything from Clayman onward is.
