Wasn't planning on it but now it's certain,(somebody bought me a ticket) i'll be catching these guys in Orlando. Should be a fun show ntl. Much prefer this to Kezia. Didn't quite think this album was going to leave an impact like this but it did. This Message Edited On 02.22.08

Same with me. I listened to it twice on their myspace when they were streaming it fully. I went back today to listen to some of the songs again, and man, it's still great.

I would love to see PTH live, but I'm gonna see Opeth, Dream Theater, and BTBAM in

NYC so that's okay :D

BTBAM is awful live and Dream Theatre is good live, but mediocre musically. It was not necessary to mention Prog Nation in this thread. Why you ask? Because none of those three bands recorded Fortress.

It was in response to balls' post, but poet beat me to it.

So I finally heard this, and I've got to say, this is better than I expected. What keeps this IMHO from being a classic is the vocals (and before Coke jumps in to say THE SCREAMS ARE TECHNICALLY GOOD AND HE IMPROVED LOTS BLAH), I just don't dig that metalcore-screamy sound. The clean vocals are excellent though. Musically it sounds like BTBAM, old Dillinger, I thought I recognised some Dream Theater and DragonForce in there (maybe it's the keyboardist from DF playing that solo in Limb from Limb.)

I don't know if this will be a classic for me, or even score a 4.5/5, because I find the screamed vocals annoying. But it's the record BTBAM should have made with Colors imo. It's far more concise and gets straight to the point. The vocals are ten times better and the songwriting just rules harder, plus there are not so many weird unnecessary breaks (and the meowing cat is lol.)

Just my 2 cents.

Please. Please. Please. Please stop talking in absolutes. This is your opinion. My opinion is that BTBAM are very good live and so are PTH, but they both suffer from the same weaknesse live, and that is the clean singing of both vocalists. Other than, they are both ace.

Hey chan, awesome use of sarcasm there. really, really funny. I was just trying to point out the fact that everything Cocaine says is supposedly supposed to be treated as fact. It gets old. He gets old. I just think its ridiculous how he goes out of his way to post a comment about how he didn't like the fact that someone mentioned the Progressive Nation Tour in his sacred review.

I'm not worked up. I am drinking coffee and watching the new episode of Lost. Just gets kind of annoying. PTH should be added onto PROGRESSIVE NATION TOUR. THAT would be awesome.

I saw them live in Saskatoon a few weeks back and when Rody sings clean vocals its like a cat being squeezed to death

Other than that they are alright live

Yeah but then PTH would be on a tour with BTBAM and Dream Theatre. And you see, BTBAM is awful live and Dream Theatre is good live, but mediocre musically.

lol

kmagnum it has everything to do with rody's drinking habits and lack of trust when the monitors arent strong and and not much to do with his actual vocal ability. don't say he can't sing because his performances are inconsistent. I've seen plenty more impressive performances than I have blundered ones, and I've seen them more than enough to determine this.

I just caught them in D.C tonight, and they did real well. They lost themselves at the beginning of The Dissentience but they were pretty spot on tonight, and blew TDWP.
