As much as I love this album, there is absolutely no breathing room on it. A balance between heavy, skull-crushing moments and moments that allow you to absorb and process the destruction you just witnessed. They achieved this balance pretty well on tortured existence and I've legitimately thought about 5ing that album.

Tell me something heavier than skull fracturing nightmare. Back it with human dissection. What a song. This album goes hard everytime.

I tend to judge albums by the quality of the songs, regardless of how they come across as a whole. So for me any album with individually flawless songs is going to be a 5.
Sidenote, this might be a 5

I dislike the complete lack of breathing room personally. Objectivity when talking about music doesn't really exist.

It's not a huge negative. I love this band/album. But it keeps me from 5ing it. It goes 100 mph for 40 mins and then stops and im just like wut, what just happened

yeah i do get what you mean. "carnivorous obsession" is my fave song because it gets slow and groovy for a bit and its a cool change of pace from every other song

I feel you on the breathing room thing. Sometimes I enjoy a suffocating album nonstop barrage style but most of the time it is nice to have a couple little spots of slight relief here and there

It's honestly kind of numbing. It's like getting your brains blown out for 37 mins. Like it kinda rules in a way but at the same time, it's kinda numbing. Like after 2 songs you've just been getting pummeled into the ground and you're like "can I feel anything yet?" And then the album is like no fuck you and keeps stomping and stomping and stomping and
Like I said, it's not a huge negative. But that is probably the main reason I prefer TE over this. It has a more balanced spectrum of slaying, whereas this is just like getting ur guts blown out with a machine gun for 40 mins
