Road River and Rail has grown on me hard this bout of listening tbh

I've always loved Teardrop but it entirely undersells just how great of a singer Elizabeth Fraser is
This is fantastic

It definitely does. She's so versatile. One of the greats.

Fifty Fifty might be the best here, Ring is a contender though, Wolf has also grown on me a lot

also Treasure is not an acceptable pick for their best album and your opinion is automatically invalidated by it

This & Treasure are the only acceptable picks, let’s be real now

dont get me wrong its a great album through and through, just a lil cheesy for my taste and the t/t transcends the cheese. fifty fifty clown is good too

this feels like getting sober
|

Although I wasn’t aware of it at the time this album doesn’t half remind me of the 80s.

Elizabeth Frazer and Lisa Gerrard (Dead Can Dance) were the greatest and most creative vocalists of the 1980s. This album is great, but maybe not quite as great as Victorialand and Treasure.

Great but not as great.

Has great moments, but it’s overrated. One of those albums where the magic wanes with repeated listens.

the song liz did with jeff buckley is seriously one of the greatest songs ever written
never meant for it to be released though so it feels a bit strange listening to it

Gabba, I've been listening to this album since 1988--can't say it's ever lost its magic. YMMV

Then you win, I’ve been only listening to it since circa 1998 only, and it doesn’t do much to me anymore. Probably I’ve just overplayed it. Still listening to this band a lot, but mostly to the EPs, they’re the best.
