"King For A Day doesn't hold a candle to this"
I thought that at first, but the more I listened to king for a day the better it got

Bungle and FNM cannot be fairly compared, but I'd say Bungle> by a small margin.

Faith No More are more cohesive and less random for random's sake, imo

Agreed, FNM can balance out good songwriting and weirdness, while Bungle is basically balls-out, full-retard craziness (both rule tho)

They totally revel in strangeness but to say they make strange music for the sake of it is fucking dumb

Wow I'm sorry bro I didn't know that would offend you so

If you think their strangeness is just a gimmick then you've failed at Patton

Dude I love Bungle and their strangeness but sometimes it seems like they're just fucking around for fun without thinking of musical cohesiveness
But I see you have all their records 5d so this is hardly likely to be an agreeable conversation

But it's the fact they don't go "oh shit, this is getting unconventional, better reel it in a bit" that makes them so good
Sure Faith No More consciously keep their songs grounded on earth and as a result are more straightforward and catchy
But in doing so they never reach those truly incredible way-out-in-space places that Bungle does
