It's even in the title. Gotta love a self-aware record

Fitter Happier is like "I'm a good interlude I swear!!" and I'm like "OK computer".

When I was transferring my ratings from RYM to here, I gave my OK Computer 4/5 the stink eye, comparing it to my 4.5 for The Bends. But honestly...I still think that's the case. I absolutely adore this album but I can't deny that Lucky, The Tourist, and Exit Music don't do as much for me as the other tracks here.

Lucky and tourist took the longest to grow on me from this, but now I cant imagine this album not having them.

Exit Music is top notch.

And LeddSledd, if you're new to this album (or band in general?) Its a monster grower. Itll own if you keep with it.

It can grow on you, but it definitely grew off of me. This used to be one of my favorite albums.

I don't mind the Tourist, but it's not essential to me. I can't imagine anyone who likes the album not liking Lucky though.

Album has definitely grown off me over the years.

It’s been diluted by all the Muses, Snow Patrols, Coldplays and formulaic ‘rock’ bands that followed.

This had such a massive impact on me in 1997 it was something special then and it still is now to an extent......it’s just not quite the same.

It’s definitely diluted by so many acts that followed.

When I first heard Karma Police I was nine and it was on one of those terrible ‘Now’ compilations and I remember keeping on going back to it not really sure what I was hearing or why I loved it but I couldn’t stop going back.

this record does have a strange dichotomy of still feeling really relevant and appropriate, yet also sounding very much like an album of its time. hard to put into words - or maybe I am just not very eloquent - but perhaps that is something that contributes to its classic status.

It was ahead of its time, still holds truth and is timeless because the fears it espouses will always be there.
