Seems like an intentionally risible take imo. Fitter Happier works very well as an interlude to the album and as a supplement to the overarching theme, but saying it's legitimately one of the best standalone tracks on OK Computer is an unfathomable notion.

Interludes can definitely be standouts, and he never said it was one of the best standalone tracks. For me its greatness is definitely contextual though

Idk like I know it's "jUsT aN iNtErLuDe" but when I relistened to this the other day it really struck me in a way many of the "real songs" didn't, of course it would have made for a terrible single but I legitimately think it's a better piece of music than most of the singles off this (none of which I'm particularly fond of tbf)

EDIT: just checked and I forgot No surprises was a single, that one is actually very good as well

One of the weaker tracks here, but I like it

I'm probably preaching to the choir here, but if you guys haven't listened to the IKNOTOK Disc 2 of OK Computer era tracks, you are missing out on some of Radiohead's best stuff. Pretty amazing that this could have been a double album and still be brilliant.

randomly realised that this 1996 Fishmans classic has a weird amount of overlap with Airbag in the melody dept - or is that just me?

i can't help but feel like Lucky and Electioneering are just The Bends songs

Electioneering is still probably my favorite song here, though Let Down and Climbing Up The Walls both give it some very stiff competition

I can't imagine thinking electioneering being top half of this album, let alone the favorite... clearly the weakest track to me. Fun rock song with political jargon, nothing more.

Electioneering could totally be on the Bends but Lucky? idk about that.

Yeah it's a proper hip swinger.

Colin is a pretty underrated bassist, has some sweet lines.

the existence of fitter happier adds such a aura to the album which helps confirm its place as a classic - sums the albums theme up so well
