expecting an emotional list! it's 5 years for me in oct, bit of a madness. innit lol it's weird to think I used to genuinely care about others opinions on the music I was listening too, crazy stupid looking back.
here I am now, giving something cheesy like Fear Before a 3.5

i miss 2013/14 sput

Same dude, I just miss my music experience in general that year, so many personal favourites were found then

i think a lot of people have that same sort of experience. they join sput, and within the first one or two years find out about loads of bands that quickly become favourites. then, they have to look harder as the well starts to run dry, and the site is never really the same
which is also why i think after the first couple of years of so people start to branch out more. when i first joined i was massively into my post hardcore, skramz and metalcore. after a while tho id scraped the bottom of the barrel and found myself sort of lost. only after branching out and realizing just how much there is out there that i had never considered did sput become enjoyable again. doesnt have the same magic as it did when i was discovering weird metalcore bands with less than thirty votes but it still occasionally delivers

I have the opposite problem, I don’t go deep enough but the eclectic mix of music I listen to/have listened to is probably quite strong for a guy on under 1,000 ratings. I guess it’s always a case of ‘the grass is greener’ when in reality it usually isn’t.

yeah I agree mort, if im looking for music now adays, unless someone recs me something, i'll use RYM. I still love Sput, its pretty confidently my favourite website & my only place to nerd about music - but it defo does feel less 'magical'.

i was more thinking all the fun users left and now its just middle-aged men, 15 year-olds, and those who wish they were one of the two. where's the drama, where's the fun, where's all the hilarious quotes. i only come here outta habit these days

I'm harmless. Don't know how to bring the drama. This is my plight.

"i love you now fear but jesus christ thats funny"
Oh I'm dying at how badly roasted I got for being an idiot back then. It's even more hilariously ironic because I really enjoy most grindcore now too. Oh well, I grew out of that being a dickhead stage quick, changed my name on here, and completely changed my attitude and people forgot or accepted me. I like how it happened tbh

Yeah I found so much incredible stuff when I first joined. My first list was like my favorite Christ core breakdowns and someone was like “listen to slit your guts pussy” and I did and man I’m stoked they did that

No conversation, without remorse
And this television drowns the only source
Wake from these dreams of you in my arms
To the staircase where you hold my heart
This place, these walls mean everything to me
