I don't have any reluctance accepting that some ppl hate this album, I wholeheartedly accept that. I also agree that my rating of this album is fanboy to the max.
However, I'm not a fanboy of the band, the rest of their albums after Alaska are pap. I just find this particular album to be my favourite metal-core album besides OMAMH - Misery Signals. I don't really even like the genre much, but for my money no one's done it better than BTBAM on this album.

Out of the blue I went back to listen to this album. Still barely bearable. It's still pretty
infuriating how terrible it can be at times, but now it is a little comedic as well. It is actually
bad most of the time, but the good parts are good enough to justify a 3. To me this album
is like a shit-filled doughnut sandwich.

But even if you have the doughnut, the shit still completely ruins it.

Mordecai through Ad a dglgmut would of made a great EP (I'd call those the donuts)

I honestly just don't understand how you can head bang to the stuff in this album. It's like the band
is trying to bore and make you cringe.
Another analogy here. I think of this music as a cock block to having fun listening to metalcore. It's
like you're trying to get there but some guy keeps ruining the mood.

This album isn't about being groovy metal-core that you can just throw on and bang ur head to,
Why do ppl expect this to be Unearth?

Naw this def gets it's groove on at times, Camilla Rhodes gangbang, DEATH IS IN THE AIRRRRRRRRRRRRRR, and SWAYING OF THE OCEAN WITH THE SWAYING OVER HER HIPPPPPS. And of course The Need For Repetition.

Alaska is my favorite dude, enjoy. It took me a few years fully grasp it's greatness, but I found it more in the deep cuts over time; Autodidact, Backwards Marathon, The Primer, Roboturner. But Selkies and All Bodies will always crush too.
