I was pleasantly surprised that Fergus McCreadie received a nomination. I hope it draws more ears to his music. Sure, every year there's at least one jazz artist that never wins but it was still a surprise for it to be Fergus this year.
All the same, I do wonder why this band didn't get nominated. I would have thought they'd be a shoe-in for a nomination, at least.
