It's taking a lot of will power not to check the new Converge / Poison the Well tracks but I want to save myself for the full projects

Good on you guys, Hawks, you’ll dig it, jr you probably will too. Love Is Not Enough is a balls to the wall shredding opener and We Were Never the Same is moody as fuck but still brings some killer leads from Kurt. Vocals across the board are amazing.
I’ve said it before, but it’s a bummer the albums only around 30 mins when they’ve said multiple times that they have like 20 songs worth of material… I’m really hoping we get a Unloved and Weeded Out style b sides comp of those unrecorded songs

I'm going to try my hardest to hold off from hearing the studio version of WWNTS so I can be surprised. The AudioTree Live version was bangin' though.

F closers as singles

On that we can agree, I’ve always hated when bands make openers and closers pre release singles… and they’ve done both for 3 records in a row now… but tbh since AWLWLB they’ve been kinda weird with closers. Thematically, Predatory Glow, Reptilian, and Blood Dawn all fit perfectly with their records but they lack any kind of… epicness? Grandiosity? This song very much feels in line with those rather than being a “Jane Doe” or a “Wretched World”

Agreed on both accounts, unfortunately, epic closers hasn't been a concern for them in a while, and releasing closers as singles so early messes with the experience a bit

As my first contact with the band, I say
WWNTS doesn't make me wanna go much further

Based on your ratings, this is not the band for you. However, give Dark Horse/Aimless Arrow/Last Light a try and see if you dig any of those tracks because they tend to be gateway songs for getting into this band.
