Pika our discussion on this topic has had so many iterations already but I think this might be my favourite. Short, clear, honest, nothing wrong about that.

And now you're dragging it out.

True. But these comments were very meta, more process than album oriented, so I feel they don't really count.

Yes. Everybody gets to walk away with their jimmies unrustled and diapers clean.

And I'd take Blackwater, My Arms, and Still Life over Morningrise everyday of the week
|
| |
I'd take any album released before Ghost Reveries over Ghost Reveries.
|
| |
Morningrise is best Opeth.
|
| |
Blackwater Park is inferior to all its predecessors.

yeah cause they sold out too with GR, right pika.....i bet you were on board from orchid weren't you?
a real fan if you will...
|

Well, check my ranking list. It is bottom three for me, just beating PC and Sorceress. Every other album is superior to it. God, I can't believe I'm having this convo for the fourth time on this website.

Nope, Ghost Reveries was my first Opeth album and the reason why I dismissed them in the first place. Until I heard Still Life...
|
| |
Okay, skele, you've heard their recent output, right? I think it's in the same league - riffs, song structures, everything. The only thing that prevents it from sounding like 70s butt prog is... the production. I can't refute the fact that GR is possibly the best produced Opeth album to date.
|
| |
But as far as songwriting is concerned, it's your typical 70s butt prog - bar the growls of course. Ghost of Perdition rules though, top Opeth song for sure. Grand Conjuration is boring.
