New album is an instant classic. Truly without an ounce of hyperbole I can say its an earthmover that the whole world needs to hear.
Actual tears man. Jordan's performance is absolutely breathtaking (Environmental Catastrophe Film especially) and that ending monologue in End Times Sermon hit the feels so damn hard it hurts. Bravo to these guys.

New albums fantastic, Jordans amazing and gives a much more emotive performance. One thing thats standout is the guitar work on the new one is outstanding

yeah it's on par with Wildlife after one listen, maybe even better. It's exhausting, in a good way. Like you said, guitar work is beautiful.
But the real, huge highlight is Jordans performance, my god. The angriest, most passionate he has ever been. Almost shed a tear on the title track.

Why are these guys allergic to decent album art?

Does not compute lol of all bands to criticize for album art this is not one of them.

would be lying if i said there weren't some complaints with the back half (4/5)
but my god. the lyrical devastation here is unsettling to say the least. t/t is perfect

Yeah t/t is the best song

^ Agreed that the instrumentation starts dragging a little on the second half. Obviously still some great moments, but a lot that feels more like filler. I could've used another banger between Top Sellers and the end of the album but that might be just a nit. Still undoubtedly their best since wildlife imo.

yeah, i can't put this higher than Wildlife atm but it is far and away their best since

let me bask in the positivity for a bit though
god, the groove in Top-Sellers is insane and then the SOUND?!?!? my fucking god, how cinematic. for Jordan to have an idea like THAT for what follows??? my god, this guy's brain
I Dreamt of A Room is another lyrical highlight, the i love you but it felt so good was physically painful
really can't say enough for t/t, felt like an elevated a Broken Jar sonically. they posted a lyric video which felt very appropriate
and then lyrically again End Times Sermon was just so fucking bleak. i feel like bands typically use all of that to end on something positive but that line about the garden was basically taunting us

I cannot say enough about the opening groove in Top Sellers, it has been in my head for a solid month. Easily in my favorite moments on the album. I first listened to it in the car on my drive to work and the crash/sound at 2:30 made me almost jump out of my seat. I sort of wish they had let that sound resonate for a bit longer before kicking in with the spoken word. Even though it's already a long song after that, it feels like they kind of rushed that transition but can't really complain, it was an ambitious move for sure.
Really do like the comparison to Broken Jar for the TT. I think Broken Jar is a stronger song, and it fits better on wildlife than the TT does here, mostly since it's bridging two cohesive parts of that record. Here, it's not really acting as an interlude but I'm not sure that was the intention anyway. I think after some more listens it might end up as my favorite of the "slower" songs here.
