When each individual instrument sounds much better than how they sound here then it does not matter, especially the guitar tone.

Obzen was better in terms of them really showing off their skills with their instruments. Haake pretty much runs amok on that album.
I still cannot figure out what pattern Haake is playing at 1:00-1:40 on Pineal Gland Optics. Mental.

One of fav moments on this is the solo section of Clockworks. The guitars are playing a very meshuggah pulsing 8th note chug that is as simple as anything they've done rhythm-wise. But it's what haake is playing that is ridiculous, it's loaded with ghost notes and off-time snare hits.
It's up there with the jazz shit he plays during the second solo of Marrow.
