It's a personal gripe of mine, but a whole lot of people really liked it so you certainly aren't alone. And it's not a bad album so much as it's just very different from when I enjoy and was hoping for.

It's like when Yes tightened things up on Going for the One to mixed results. It sold well and the critics mostly liked it, but a lot of fans were left thinking, "...huh?"

Anyway, this took the same approach but will slightly better results, I think. And bringing back Kelly for "Diamond" makes for a better ending than the pleasant but plodding "Sparrow."

I feel they step up their catchy song writing on this and i liked the hunter(especially the t/t which i like better than this t/t). Chimes At Midnight Hits the perfect medium of their sludgy sound with pop tendencies.

I really like this album, but I can completely understand why some people don't. And agreed, The Hunter's title track is fantastic.

Yeah, no reason to write the same album twice. I can listen to Call/Remission/Leviathan/BM/CTS all I want and they can keep making new albums and everyone's happy, haha.
