Still waiting for the day when the Macklemore-hate circlejerk stops.

New song is all kinds of awful, though.

I'm aware of that, yes. I've been listening to hip hop since elementary school though, and I don't understand the hate that he is getting. Like, at all.

I disagree with both. I think he is a decent enough rapper and his beats/hooks are just catered to a more alternative/poppish audience. Ain't nothing wrong with that.

He made a song about that topic way back in '05 when no white people talked about that shit. Dude has been around forever.

Still waiting for the day when the Macklemore-hate circlejerk stops.
when he stops making bad music, which he seems to absolutely refuse to do.

also a lot of pop critics like downtown a lot, and i'm just like... why tho??? is the radio so stale and stagnant that some nonsensical and poorly constructed retro disco-funk rap is suddenly good by comparison? i mean, i'm down with mopeds, don't get me wrong, but that song is just a mess smh.

the radio seems to have an obsession with bootleg motown rnb like bruno mars idk what it is

and i can get down with it sometimes, like the time bruno mars ripped off the police was pretty cool tbh. but after uptown funk, these guys aren't even trying, it seems.

"Bad music" is still subjective, you all just needed an easy target because he is a living goofball. And if someone loves Kanyes album for being a poorly constructed mess, I can like Downtown for that as well.

@Clover thanks for pointing out my mistake, I changed it.

How is it a hate circlejerk? He's an untalented hack, it's as simple as that.

Nice opinion. But that's it. An opinion. Not a fact.

"i'm not gay so i don't think i am readily able to speak of its ignorance or offensiveness but yeah i can say it's not a song i would've ever thought was a good idea to write."

Don't worry, as a gay person I can confirm that it's pretty ignorant.

honestly his flows are pretty fucking good so idk what you're talking about, I mean it's cool to hate, but let's call a spade a spade.
