I do have to agree that the trilogy was overproduced to hell.

At least he's not Howard Benson

The producer that destroys almost every band he touches

See, Howard used to produce albums that I fucking loved, and I have a lot of nostalgia for many of the albums he's done.

But lately he's been doing nothing but turning some of my favorite bands into bland alt rock machines.

@Tort: Hence one of the reasons I can't completely hate him, he produced great albums like Three Cheers.

Trilogy had that one song called 'stop when the red lights flash' or something. Lord that tune was terrible.

The Tres Sessions Only Good Songs List:

UNO: Nuclear Family, Stay The Night, Rusty James, Oh Love (for the obligatory 4 chord snore fest every green day album has)

DOS: Lazy Bones, Stray Heart

TRE: 8the Avenue Serenade, X-Kid, Dirty Rotten Bastards, The Forgotten (For the obligatory slow, mellow song every green day album has)

There, arrange them into something sorta cohesive (which shouldnt be hard this all sounds the same) and find some awful fan art some green day fan made and you have yourself a 3.5 worth EP/Compilation.

the production on the christmas song is worse than it even is on here. not excited for the new one

the good in their career outweighs the bad though. 8 good albums vs 4 bad albums, plus a whole slew of unreleased tracks that are pretty decent (some of their covers during the 21cb era, especially a quick one while hes away, are worth checking). and they were consistently good up until 2004.

I might just be salty about Howard Benson because of how he killed Red's usually fantastic guitar tone when he produced "Release the Panic" for them.

I think Rick Rubin is an genius producer in the sense of him guide the band in a sound that they are trying to aim for but as a person who mixes the music and stuff, he is an absolute turd

im willing to forgive them a little bit because it is just fanservice and was probably written in a day, but god the production on billie is horrendous. its like, they take the problems with their sound and amplify them on the next release now lol.

I also don't like Mike Sapone's production but apparently I'm alone in that dislike.
