So as someone who loves Opeth and hates Heritage, I've been really anxious about what the new Opeth material would sound like. Just finished Cusp of Eternity and.....


























































I liked it....a lot :D. Mikael sounds brilliant on it, vocals are great. The song is very straight forward but the riffs have a lot of groove and it has some of that old Opeth atmosphere I missed from Heritage. It sounds a lot more focused and coherent than a lot of Heritage and my god that section after the solo....blew me the fuck away. Was so fucking awesome. This is a great sign for the new album, especially because a) it's the most straight forward song on the album and b) It sounds very fresh. I can't wait now.

Gonna jam the new song when I get home from work. Sucks to here Axe's performance isn't that amazing but he's probably just keeping us in suspense before blowing our minds on the rest of the album.
