That said, one listen isn’t really enough to digest this as it’s really long lol. Just not sure how motivated I am to listen again. Bit of a trial to listen to all 70 minutes.

Gloria and 21st Century Breakdown are pretty good.

This album is just a more pretentious and less interesting version of American Idiot. Probably the start of the period where Billie Joe decided to see how far he could venture up his own rectal cavity that culminated in the trilogy.

"Viva la Gloria" is such a "Letterbomb" rewrite how did I never notice that as a 13 year old. "Christian's Inferno" is so fucking bad jesus.

This isn't bad by radio-rock standards but the lyrics are so fucking horrible it's like Bansky the album. Also it's funny that the best song (Horseshoes) is just a straight up Hives rip-off

"Hey hey it's the static age this is how the west was won" is one of the worst lyrics I've ever heard.

I remember being 17 when this came out and thinking it was way better than AI, oh to be that young and deluded again.

I remember 'This Is How The West Was Won' being the name of a trophy on Green Day Rock Band back in the day

This could've been a pretty solid 12-14 track album.

Underrated album. It's no AI but it's a top 3-5 GD record.
