I've never seen people do that. They come off as a highly respected band to me and for good reason. Absence really takes a while to sink in while this certainly has a lot of Tool influence which could turn some off, but they use it as well and make it their own.

I didn't mean like outright HATE, but they often get written off when compared to Oceanic and Panopticon when I feel as if they're just as strong, if not more so

Ghost Key might be one of their best songs, some absolutely stunning instrumental sections.

Don't know if this has been mentioned ever but I think Aaron Turner's clean singing bears a slight resemblance to Fred Durst's (haha), minus the whine.

I enjoyed Chocolate Starfish as much as any other edgy ten year old back in the day. I'm not hearing it either.

Might just be me then. Was aware that it would be perceived as an insult here but I got nothing against LB so I don't see it that way.

I guess those layered vocals in Take A Look Around have a resemblance to Turner's in Hall of the Dead.

In vast halls buried, in hurried hordes

No help found here, only dreadful tears

Such an underrated lyricist.

Absence has his best lyrics IMO. "Dulcinea" is so concise and perfect.
