Deep Water is only a minute and a half long and I think its one of the most impactful songs here.

It works well after We Carry On which is just an immense tune

I’ve come back to this as a result of how unbelievable Lives Outgrown is.

This is a lot better than I remember.

This is a lot better than Lives Outgrown for me yeah.

Some songs definitely hint at the approach of that album too.

Machine Gun and We Carry On might out-Mezzanine Mezzanine tbh

This sounds revolutionary every time I revisit it. Incredible album. If this was a standalone release by *insert random band* it’d probably have been seen as more remarkable in the first instance

The weight of the ‘name’ probably played a part

Those horns at the end of Threads keep haunting me for minutes after the album ends.

This album is amazing. I'd never listened to it until recently. There was an interview with a dreampop band called Deary on a local radio show late at night, and they picked The Rip as one of their 'formative five.' Anyway, this album brings the stuff.
